blueberry muffin dreams

Happy Place, Happy Space

We have been baking (& devouring) these Blueberry Muffins for a while now. Posted the recipe & a funny story in my previous blog which I am linking to in case you feel the need for some buttery, streusel-topped deliciousness, bursting with blueberries!

Over the past two weeks, we rescued 2 huge batches of blueberries from UglyFood, my favourite food rescue grocer.

Naturally, Baking Fiend Younger Child baked muffins, lots and lots of muffins which she gifted as well as sold, as part of her baking enterprise, Treats by Jo.

So I am left dreaming of these goodies.

No no, don’t feel sorry for me, she kept me a couple.

  1. I’m going to make those blueberry muffins! I’m so glad you included your tweaked recipe. I also love your “rescue” store. Such a wonderful idea. I remember chuckling over the tomatoes from a post long ago… Finally, thanks for the shout-out. I’m glad you noted that “portal” experience; it’s still a bit unsettling and a lot of fun!

    1. Time in the kitchen is great amusement for she & I. And making a little business out of it affords her the opportunity to learn various parts of running an enterprise. Hopefully good for career-testing.

  2. Ah Ju-Lyn, you had me at Blueberries. They are not native to my part of the globe but are readily available in stores so we always have a small container of them. I also love them in oatmeal and they are classic ingredients for pancakes. Hope the change in season is treating you all well.

  3. Oooo. Yum. So lucky that you got your hands on (inexpensive?) fresh blueberries. They cost so much over here, but for a while the frozen ones were reasonable.
