Happy Place, Happy Space: Japan Memories (Osaka Oct 2023)
Loving Husband has a photographic eye. Looking through our Japan trip photos from a couple of months ago, it is clear who takes the artistic photos. For the Debbie’s One Word Sunday’s prompt of minimal, I use some of his from Osaka.
From top left, clockwise: All taken by Loving Husband 1) Yodogawa Riverside Park 2) sushi at Taishomaru, a “fishing port bar” recommended by Loving Husband’s whisky bar, 3) riding off into the sunset, 4) garlic ramen, all gone, 5) front of a funeral parlour (also the Feature Photo)
And one I took on Osaka Castle grounds, Loving Husband in front of the largest stone used to build the castle walls.

Your trip looks amazing and there were indeed some really great photos in that grouping. That’s quite the stone!

So happy to have you delight in my trip memories with me, Bernie! Those stones were quite rather amazing, and just imagining how they were all transported and put together!

Wow! Those stones are massive!

Some of them really are ginormous! One of the docents showed us a pamphlet about how they were transported on site – just amazing!

Is that a shinkansen?
The black and white photo has a dramatic feel to it! Very nice.

This was just the regular train – not the super fast shinkansen! Loving Husband has quite a fascination for trains so he photographed quite a few of them.
Yes, the B&W is rather dramatic. We actually stopped to look into this funeral parlour (we only figured out what it was because there was a sign nearby) because the arch is not quite a tori gate which usually marks a shrine. We were quite fascinated.

When my kids were little, they were fascinated with trains, especially Thomas & Friends. We used to sing the theme song and make so many tracks. Trains are fascinating!
Wow, the B&W does make the funeral parlour more dramatic looking.

Thomas & Friends is a distant memory, but they still can’t bear to part with the trains. lol

Always happy to share space with you! The funeral parlour was an interesting find – took us a while to figure out what it was.
