Reflecting on the month past
Despite a very rainy month, we were busy out and about. Loving Husband was on break until mid-January, so we ran/explored many an early morning.
We ran to Chinatown on this occasion. Behind us is the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple.
We also popped into Little India for our favorite tea at Madras Coffee House’s (not a typo, folks)
In the feature photo, Loving Husband is admiring a Hindu temple in Chinatown (Keong Saik Street)
Lots of exciting art:
From left, clockwise: 1) Chinatown, Banda Lane, 2) in a preloved furniture store (Hock Siong & Co), 3) Singapore Art Week #arttakesover, 4) Translations: Afro-Asian Poetics at Gilman Barracks, 6) saying goodbye to a family home: Eat Love Play
In the kitchen:
From top left, clockwise: 1) carrot cake cupcakes, 2) chocolate almond cake, 3 & 4) using up vegetables from our ugly food grocer Tezz, 5) bagels for the week, 6) cheddar & chive scones, 7) my first throw-everything-in-the-bowl-without-a recipe loaves: front is walnut, back is wholemeal
About The Changing Seasons
The Changing Seasons is a monthly project where bloggers around the world share their thoughts and feelings about the month just gone. We all approach this slightly differently, though generally with an emphasis on the photos we’ve taken during the month.
For many of us, looking back over these photos provides the structure and narrative of our post, so each month is different. Some focus on documenting the changes in a particular project — such as a garden, an art or craft project, or a photographic diary of a familiar landscape.
But in the end, it is your changing season, and you should approach it however works for you.
There are no fixed rules around post length or photo number — just a request that you respect your readers’ time and engagement.

Another lovely month with delicious mouth -watering treats, Ju-lyn. Even in the rain you manage to live life to the fullest. The art walk must have been fun and I especially love the bikes leaned up against the wall art. That extends to art, and is a nice photos. Saying good by to a home is bittersweet, lots of memories and lots to look forward to. Thank you.

So delighted to have you share in my month, Donna.
Visiting the “home gallery” was particularly poignant for us as we are moving this summer from a home of 23 years. It also gave Younger Child an idea of how she wants to say goodbye!

Good views good eating a good month Ju-Lyn. I was wondering what was on the footpath where LH was taking the photo. I thought they were shoes and then you tell Hindu temple and yes it’s shoes. I had a rainy month too 🙂

Sounds like a fun month! And, oh, those baked goods. Did you make bagels? If so, holy cats!

I did have a fun month, Laurie. And I did make them bagels – it is on my regular rota actually, because I like my bagels chewy as opposed to bready, and I find the store bought ones here not the way I like.

So impressed with all that you do! And, yes, bagels should be chewy. Otherwise, they are just round bread. 😉

Exactly! you get me. Imagine my horror when I examined one at a cafe the other day which was soft & fluffy.
