Happy Place, Happy Space
We had a relatively quiet week and we snatched a few evening runs, on account of rain in the mornings. The Singapore Botanic Gardens is surprisingly tranquil as dusk approaches, with only critters for company.
I did my best with the iPhone, but I daren’t get too close for fear of frightening off the little critters: from left, clockwise: Yellow-vented Bulbuls, Asian Water Monitor, White-breasted Waterhen

I love the lizard! What a tongue and what a quick shooter you are with that camera of yours. I’ll be by to share change of the season next week. Can you believe it’s June already! 🙂

I know, right? These past months continue to zip by!
Do you similar lizards in your neighbourhood? I imagine the hot dry desert weather would appeal to them!

We do have tiny lizards all over the place all summer. Once the weather gets cold, they disappear. I’ve never gotten a great tongue picture, though! 🙂

That Asian water monitor is impressive! I would certainly be taken aback if I came upon it. A common sight for you? Thanks for the mention.

They are pretty common in these gardens. We mostly hear them rooting about in the undergrowth. This one was pretty insistently crossing the pathway though.

Wow, amazing critters!! If we saw an Asian Water Monitor on one of our naturewalks, we’d be so excited and nervous at the same time.
Thank you for the mention! So happy.

I know what you mean -this was a tiny one compared to others we’ve crossed paths with. Those I tend to be cautious around.
Always happy to share space with you!

That’s a tiny one?? Whew… we get excited to see tiny desert lizards here. What a difference in size.
Thank you again!

There are much much larger ones – sometimes they block the path so much so folks are hesitant to go around them.
