Happy Place, Happy Space
We explored the area around the St Joseph’s Church on Good Friday as part of our SG Camino runs. We couldn’t enter the church grounds but their Stations of the Cross are visible from the roads that surround the church, so we walked along the fence and prayed from there. We were not alone because others were doing the same.
Nearby was the Cashew Road playground where this gentlemen was wielding what looked like an extremely long & heavy hockey stick. I stopped and gawked, of course.

Hey Annika! I’m really not sure whether he was practicing a particular form of martial arts – but he certainly was doing through a set sequence of rather impressive moves.
Thank you for visiting – it is always a pleasure to see you!

Hi Ju-Lyn. I have a story that comes from my early years of being married before we started having our own kids. I was that guy who was not sure he wanted to ever be a father but was more than willing to work with kids in our church. Such irony could not go unchecked and this resulted in one of the most embarrassing events of my life. On the other hand, looking back, it’s now pretty funny and I hope you enjoy a smile at my expense because laughing at it really is the only payback I get from having survived it. Blessings!

A little bit – except in much slower motion … which is what led me to believe the staff was actually quite heavy.

Do you know what that man was doing? Is it some type of martial arts practice?
