walking with friends

Happy Place, Happy Space

Most of my visits to the Singapore Botanic Gardens across the street are solitary: partly because of the time of day, some of it because it is my alone time and I prefer it that way.

As we are still socially cautious and limit the number of guests we have in our home at any one time, walking with friends is a great way to catch up. So when invited by a certain group of ladies who walk & travel together to join them for their designated walk in my neighbourhood green space, I was more than delighted to join in.

Reason I received this invite: they saw this post on my Instagram and although a couple of them are regulars at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, they were curious where this was taken. I showed them, and enjoyed a chat-filled happy walk as well.

I have two more walking dates lined up for next week: the first with a couple visiting from Canada, another with a dear friend who is sharing a forest space near her home. I am looking forward to catching up with them too.

Reading your Joyful Posts brings me to my happy place. I hope having them in one place makes it easier for you to find when you need a bit of happy therapy, too.

If you would like to join in Happy Place, Happy Space, ping back to this post and I will include you next week.

  1. Ju-Lyn, Thank you for the mention and your weekend coffee share. You found a beautiful green space by a waterfall. I like to meet my friends outdoors and walk, too.

  2. What beautiful photographs! And I love how your instagram post led to the delightful walk with friends. I, too, appreciate your ability to marry garden socializing with alone time. We can — and need! — both. (And thank you for mentioning my post!)

  3. Nice to have a combination of alone time and time with friends. What a perfect place to meet, talk, and walk. We are still being careful and have come to love the various parks where we meet with family and friends. As always, thanks for the mention!

    1. I hear you and I see your outdoor gatherings. We still haven’t returned to eating in cafes & restaurants. So the outdoors is a good place to be right now. What you are planning to do when the weather turns cold?
