Happy Place, Happy Space / The Changing Seasons Roundup
Headed to Gardens by the Bay again yesterday (Loving Husband didn’t have Saturday morning off like last week, but did start a little later) where we explored outside the gardens proper.

We ran along the service road and found ourselves some interesting nooks & cranies.

Like this “Ventilation Building” – not quite sure what it’s for.

Or this nursery for the main gardens.
Found our way to the end of Marina South Promenade to a stretch of breakwater, where we spotted this lovely fellow. A Purple Heron, perhaps?

Back in the Gardens, we found stones to clamber over and other critters to greet (Clouded Monitor, in this case). All in all, a very entertaining outing.

Wonderful photos! Sometimes, the beaten path does indeed take us to beautiful places. (Crowds can have wisdom…) I particularly love the photo of you and Loving Husband in blue and red shirts — along with the lizard next door. Finally, thanks for the mention!

I think having the option is wonderful … indeed crowds are there often for a good reason 🙂 like at the ballpark, right?

I love so much how you guys get up and go! I wonder if I’ll ever get to the place of experiencing that runner’s high. The shoreline… I could almost feel the wind and a bit of salt water spray, hear the boats and the birds… How delightful. I know I’ve said this before, but those monitors still give me the heeby-jeebies! But, yes, I absolutely must see one before I leave from my visit there!! 😛

Kind of what I figured. Well, if that’s the case, I might as well come at the big monitor lizard time. 🙂

I think the lizards roam all year round too … so it’s really your choice of travel months 🙂

Morning Ju Lyn, A lovely walk indeed, although hopping over, or around, the monitor might have me making a u-turn. Interesting just the same. Have a nice rest of the weekend. Donna

So fun, right? He posed quite a lot for me. I sat there for a good 5 minutes before he flew away.

Lots to see is right! That Clouded Monitor was especially impressive.

This particular critter wasn’t as large as some we’ve spotted, but it obliged us by hanging around for quite a while.

JuLyn do you notice as well that these past couple of years (or 3) there are more and more uncommon birds flying around our little red dot? There are so many hornbills (i think) now – outside our window, at a tennis court in River Valley, on the trees near Alliance school in Novena. And I once saw an eagle on the tree outside my son’s window. But never yet this long-legged bird in your post, lucky you. Also I always get inspired when you call your hubby ‘loving husband’ I feel like I need to be a more loving wife these days hehehe 🙂

Yes, Amor, I have! And they seem to linger longer in places so that we can actually see them clearly! You are so fortunate to see so many large birds!
