Happy Place, Happy Space

Visited Savoure’s indoor farm owned & run by a running friend. It was fascinating to view & smell all the delicious leaves so had to order some to try.
These are not only locally grown, they are safe & clean. So much fun incorporating the different leaves into our meals:

Have you had wasabina leaves & mustard frills before? It was my first time this time.

Delight arrived in the mail from the super talented Sarah from Art Expedition.

Hi Ju-Lyn,
I’m with Julie.
Anything that looks like wasabi must be related to wasabi – one of my all time favorites.

The smoked salmon pasta looks divine. What a good idea to top it with greens! And thank you so much for the mention and enriching my own happy place!

We top our food with greens whenever we can β¦ itβs just become habit and a preference. Easy way to make sure we get enough vegetable into our diet.

That is such a good idea. And arugula (and other sharp greens) add a special flavor. Thank you for the tip!

I never heard of wasabina leaves. It sounds like wasabi!

I believe it was named after wasabi for the spiciness, but not related at all to the root.

Ju-Lyn, Thank you for including me in your happy place and for linking up with #weekendcoffeeshare. Your food looks delicious and the artwork on the card is beautiful. I’ll look for wasabina leaves and mustard frills in my local grocery store.

You are always most welcome in this space, Natalie!
These leaves remind me of rocket/arugula leaves … spicy, yummy as “accents”

When I read “Of green things”, I was thinking nature… It all looks good. I have not knowingly had wasabina leaves, though it is possible it was in something that I have eaten. Does it have a bite, like wasabi?

It does have a distinct spiciness to it – not quite as intense as wasabi root, but certainly reminds me some of it.

Thank you for the kind mention and for the introduction to wasabina leaves and mustard frills. I look forward to giving both greens a try!

They are both delightfully spicy (wasabina more so than the mustard frills) – so far, we’ve been using them to garnish and add texture & spice. I am thinking of what other exciting things I can do.
