Happy Place, Happy Space

We begin the season of Advent in the Catholic church; today, we prepare ourselves for the celebration of Jesus’ birthday, for his coming.

One of my favourite things to do as this season rolls around (which has nothing much to do with the coming of Christ) is to run down Orchard Road, our main shopping street. We ran along this street several times this week for several doses of cheer!

Where has November gone? I felt this way about October as well – the months are zipping by. The Changing Seasons is coming soon, my opportunity to reflect back on the month, pore through my archives and remind myself that November did happen!

Please join Brian & his stunning nature photographs at Bush Boys World, and I, as we co-host this wrap up of the month. We are looking forward to catching up with you: please pingback or post your links to either of our sites in a few days; I will post mine on the morning of 30 Nov, Singapore time. More about The Changing Seasons can be found here.

Approaching December means I can listen to Christmas music without apology. So many good ones out there; here is one of my favourites:

  3. Hi Ju-Lyn.
Yes, how fast time flies by is one of the downsides to getting older. Months begin to feel like weeks. I hope you have a fantastic Christmas season and thank you for sharing my story with your readers. Now that everyone survived, I so enjoy laughing at the funny parts while marveling at how is it that I seem to attract so much chaos. I don’t think this kind of stuff happens to everyone. But since it does, I love laughing at it.
Just yesterday was the first day our church broke out the Christmas carols and it was wonderful.
    Blessings

    1. I love it when Christmas songs are everywhere!
I hear you Gary – things are often very different in retrospect. You have a gift, though, Gary, in being able to find the silver lining and a sense of humour that comes through to your reader.

    1. We are Christmas music fiends – we sometimes play it outside December as well!!!!
I am a huge Pentatonix fan – I love their covers at times better than the originals (gosh! is that a sacrilegious thing to say?)

  4. I can’t believe November is almost over. Though Los Angeles does not have seasons, I would think around this time of year is when I get creative with leftovers after having large Thanksgiving meal at my parents’ house. I have a small fridge so rather than buy new food and waste leftovers, I like give my leftovers new life and it goes on for several days.

    1. I am so happy you enjoy the Pentatonix too – I love love love the way they do covers, and of course, their originals. Very often, I prefer their arrangement of songs.

Orchard Road is a great place to people watch … getting a little crowded these days – all out for the Christmas feel.

  5. I loved your post, Ju-Lyn. The song was particularly heartwarming. I’ve never heard of them. They are fabulous. That pink train looks like something little girls would love to ride. Thanks for taking us along. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Never mind little girls, Marsha, when we ran past on another occasion, the pink train was swarming with couples & assorted other adults!

I do love the Pentatonix – I’m glad you enjoyed the song. They do great Christmas music, but I also like their covers of popular songs – sometimes better than the original artists.
