Cooking from my UglyFood surprise bundle

A bit tardy, but this is my contribution to Last on the Card hosted by Brian at Bushboys World.

As you might recall, I have been enjoying my almost weekly Surprise Bundles from UglyFood. Not only do we get more value for what we pay for (they commit to give us at 20% more than if items were purchased individually), we help with food waste, but I also cook differently depending on what items show up; my brekkies are not usually quite so varied – I used some of the grilled veggies from dinner the night before.

Do you subscribe to a Mystery Box? What is the most exciting thing you have received?

This post is also my contribution to What’s On Your Plate hosted by Debbie at The Widow Badass and Donna at Retirement Reflections.

  1. I don’t subscribe to mystery food boxes, but I am conscious of how much I buy each week at the grocery store. I tend to buy fresh produce I need for the week and perhaps maybe a little bit more for an extra meal. But nothing more than that as I really don’t want anything to go to waste.

That looks like a well-rounded breakfast. Very thoughtful of you to have some of the leftover grilled veggies for breakfast 🙂

    1. It’s great to keep in mind what you need when you shop, Mabel. I am not always very disciplined but am limited by what my fridge can hold. Just about all my fresh produce has to go into the fridge because weather in Singapore is so hot & humid.

      1. That is very good, limiting what groceries you buy based on what your fridge can hold. I love hot and humid weather but definitely agree it doesn’t agree with fresh produce, especially fresh produce left out for an extended time. Happy cooking 🙂

    1. I do remember you do get boxes from a local farmer – which is not so different because you get in-season veggies from source; lots of wastage eliminated here as well. And you get the Surprise! element.
